What do Scouts do?

The Scout Troop is for young people aged from about 10 and a half to 14. The troop is organised into groups called Patrols, each of between 4 and 6 young people led by a Patrol Leader who is one of the Scouts.

We aim to cover a wide range of fun activities in order to help them to find out about the world in which they live, encourage them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and help develop their creative talents.

The scouting year revolves around a Awards Scheme, which is made up of four key areas:

• Community
• New Experiances
• Outdoors
• Personal Development

We try to do as much of this outside as possible, especially during the summer months. We try to go camping as often as possible, regardless of the weather, having camp-fires, activities on the common etc. We meet every Tuesday evening during the term time, and sometimes have weekend events.
