The Scout Troop is for youth aged from around 10 to 14. The troop is organised into groups called Patrols, each of between 4 and 6 youth led by a Patrol Leader who is one of the Scouts. Meetings are held on Thursdays from 6:30 until 8:30pm during term times.
We aim to cover a wide range of fun activities in order to help them to find out about the world in which they live, encourage them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and help develop their creative talents.
The scouting year revolves around a Awards Scheme, which is made up of four key areas:
• Community
• New Experiences
• Outdoors
• Personal Development
We try to do as much of this outside as possible, especially during the summer months. We try to go camping as often as possible, regardless of the weather, having camp-fires, activities on the common etc. We meet every Tuesday evening during the term time, and sometimes have weekend events.
